What is it?

Granular activated carbon (GAC) with a highly porous structure that adsorbs free chlorine, taste, odour and dissolved organics. A standard duty ahead of RO membranes and ion exchange resins, and in process and effluent polishing.

Why is activated carbon needed before an RO plant?

Free chlorine permanently damages polyamide RO membranes. A correctly sized activated carbon filter removes chlorine and organics before water reaches the membranes.
